It's easy in digital space to build things that no-one visits - it can be avoided: join in; destinations are few and far between. Stop interrupting, and add value.
I was looking for some images to illustrate the "deserted cities" aspect, but while doing so noticed something else. In these images there is a creative energy in the destruction of the unused space. Nature abhors a void, grass grows, sand flows, things change. In digital this rarely happens - but why not? Cybersquatting could be so much more than simply appropriating domains. Perhaps this is why my 2nd LIfe avatar still lives, tramp-like, under a desk in Wired's offices.
